Commercial Epoxy Flooring Project in University City

The customer needed bathroom floors that would perform better in a busy commercial environment and be easier to maintain day to day. A key challenge was achieving strong long-term bonding while installing over the existing tile substrate.

We proposed a commercial-grade epoxy flake floor system with an aliphatic style protective topcoat, designed to:

• Improve cleanability by creating a sealed surface
• Hold up to constant foot traffic in a restaurant environment
• Deliver a more finished, consistent appearance
• Bond reliably with proper mechanical prep over tile

We completed the project in a controlled sequence to ensure adhesion and a clean final finish.

Surface prep for adhesion

We diamond ground the tile to create the surface profile needed for the epoxy system to bond properly.

Repairs to stabilize problem areas

We repaired cracked or compromised tile areas to help reduce future movement issues and support a more stable substrate.

System install and protective topcoat

We installed the epoxy flake system and finished with a polyaspartic style topcoat that meets the aliphatic performance goal for durability and easier maintenance.
