Is epoxy good for garage floors?
For most garages, yes. Epoxy and polyaspartic coatings handle the specific demands of a garage floor well: they resist hot tire pickup from parking right after driving, shrug off dropped tools and jack stands better than paint, and hold up to chemical spills like oil, antifreeze, and de-icing salt that a garage floor deals with regularly. It’s less well suited for garages with severe existing structural issues, like major foundation settling, which need to be addressed separately before any coating is applied. For a typical residential garage used for parking, storage, or light workshop use, it’s specifically built for the conditions a garage actually creates, which is different from a basement or living space floor.
