How do you clean a garage floor coating?

For everyday dirt, warm water and a mild cleaner handle most of it, but stubborn spots need a slightly different approach depending on what caused them. Fresh oil or antifreeze spills should be blotted up right away rather than wiped, which can spread the stain, then cleaned with a degreaser safe for coated floors. Winter road salt tracked in from vehicles should be swept or rinsed off regularly since it can dull the finish if left to sit. For scuff marks from tires or dragged equipment, a soft-bristle brush with a mild cleaner usually lifts them without damaging the coating. Avoid pressure washing directly on the seams or edges of the coating, since high pressure can occasionally lift an edge over time.

Fresh spills clean up easily, but older, set-in oil stains can be more stubborn. A degreaser designed for coated floors and some scrubbing usually improves them significantly, though a very old, deeply set stain may leave a faint mark on some coating types.
